today is d first day of d "hungry ghost"month..

there r many different versions about d origin of tis festival however, i personally found d following to be logic and interesting..........

In chinese culture..d 7th month of chinese calendar(August in western calendar), d gates of hell will open n all d spirits will be out(in d living world) looking for food. .it seems tat only during tis month tat they wil b able to swallow d food tat they eat....tis is bcox in d remaining days in hell, they'l wil b torture n things tat they put in their mouth will end up burning their throat instead..so in other words, there wil b no food able to pass through their throat, their esophagus into their stomach..that's y it is call d "hungry ghost"month..

some other believe tat tis is d month where most of d spirits including their deceased family members, relatives, friends or even enemies will b around to visit them,to bring luck n even for some who r being murdered, framed or wronged will b back to take revenge..

u'l b able to see many ppl burning joss sticks, "hell money" n even latest paper Nokia to hi-fi set to offer them to d spirits so tat they will be blessed with luck n avoid being "disturb" in return...
they will usually pray by the road side n cross junction because tis is d so-call "popular" site..

i saw a couple in their late forties praying by d road side today..been trying to avoid realising d day but thanks to my idiot frens, they jus happily remind me of today is "d day"endlessly...
imagine, i had even recieved a call from a long lost fren jus to say hi (while giggling like mad) n reminded me of today..Thanks Winna, n hope u ran into 'one' yrself!hah!!! hahahahahaha :P

u know, there has been alot of rumour going on since d day i moved into tis hostel..there was even a suicide case happened here a year or two years ago....hate to admit tis but yes i am afraid.... even when i am typing tis down, i can feel d hair at d back of my neck standing up..

i'm alone tonite cox my roommate has went home..dun think i'l switch off d light to sleep tonite..gosh, i'l b having presentation tomolo n a good nite sleep is very must desired....

p/s: part of me r afraid but part of me too wonder if grandma will b home to visit us..kinda miss her...
